CRF manager Dennis Siebers hosted a visit with scientists Waldir Martignoni, Edimilson de Oliveira and Luiz Lopreato from Petrobras, a multinational energy corporation headquartered in Brazil. Traditionally an oil company, Petrobras is invested in developing environmentally friendly alternate energy sources.

Hal Stillman, Director of Technology at the International Copper Association, visited the CRF to explore options for turning copper-based R&D into practical applications. Copper has a wide range of useful characteristics that can be applied to electrical efficiency and heat transfer problems, renewable energy systems, and even hospital antimicrobial systems.
