Program managers Dr. Michael Casassa and Dr. Wade Sisk of the DOE Office of Basic Energy Sciences (BES) and eight peer-reviewers visited the CRF from March 20–22. Over their three-day visit, Dr. Casassa, Dr. Sisk, and the reviewers met with managers and staff funded by BES, listened to staff presentations on BES areas of research, and visited CRF labs. The BES program supports fundamental research to understand, predict, and control matter and energy at the electronic, atomic, and molecular levels in order to provide the foundations for new energy technologies and to support DOE missions in energy, environment, and national security.
