Judit Zádor (8353), a physical chemist, has been elected a 2024 Fellow of The Combustion Institute “for exceptional contributions in theoretical chemical kinetics and innovations in approaches for automating quantum chemical calculations.”
The lifetime honorific title of Fellow is a testament to active participation in the combustion field through publications and attendance at the International Symposia or Combustion Institute Section meetings. Fellows are dedicated members of the international combustion community nominated and recognized by their peers in either research or applications.
Judit has been at Sandia for 17 years. When asked about her accomplishment, she commented, “Combustion chemistry and chemical kinetics have been my passions for more than 25 years, so I was thrilled to learn that I was chosen a Fellow of the Combustion Institute this year. The honor reflects also on my students, postdocs, colleagues, and mentors, and my particular thanks go to those enabling my nomination.”
Judit joins other Sandians also elected as Fellows: Habib Najm (2023), Christopher Shaddix (2020), Jonathan Frank (2020), Nils Hansen (2019), Craig Taatjes (2019), Rob Barlow (2018) and Jackie Chen (2018).
The Combustion Institute is an international, nonprofit, educational, and scientific society. Founded in 1954, the institute promotes research activities in all areas of combustion science and technology through symposia, conferences and two scientific journals for the advancement of many diverse communities around the world.
