Nils Hansen Receives Wilhelm Jost Memorial Medal

Nils Hansen, a physical chemist, has been chosen to receive the Wilhelm Jost Memorial Medal and deliver the Jost memorial lectures, awarded by the Göttingen Academy of Sciences and Humanities with guidance from the German Bunsen Society for Physical Chemistry. This award is given to an internationally acclaimed physical chemist in memory of Wilhelm Jost, a pioneer in physical chemistry who made groundbreaking contributions in the understanding of diffusion, thermodynamics, kinetics, and combustion. The associated lectures by tradition are given at the institutions where Jost worked. Nils Hansen is in the academic line of Wilhelm Jost; his PhD supervisor Friedrich Temps (himself a Jost medalist) was supervised by Heinz-Georg Wagner, who in turn studied under Jost.
